James George
is the author of Asking for the Earth: Waking up
to the Spiritual/Ecological Crisis, which is prefaced by the Dalai Lama. As a
Canadian Ambassador, Mr. George met many spiritual leaders in many countries.
His book describes these meetings and relates the insights that resulted to the
human and environmental issues of our time, and to his own 'search for meaning'
during his forty-year 'apprenticeship' with Gurdjieff's successor, Jeanne de
Salzmann. He has worked with the Gurdjieff Foundation of New York since the
1950's, and currently has groups in Philadelphia and Toronto.
